With growth a priority, the Government has placed precedence on delivering skills and ensuring a trained workforce is in place, in order to ensure business can flourish. Linking education to the skills the labour market requires, and helping facilitate partnership working between entrepreneurs, SMEs, industry, higher education and Government are at the forefront of plans. StartUp 2012 and Business in You have recently been launched to help facilitate this partnership.
Now in its third year, and at the forefront of the current skills agenda, this year's summit will bring together leaders and practitioners from across industry, academia, and government to discuss and debate the recent and continued investment in skills and training. This timely event comes at a key time as the Government is continuing to show its commitment to promote the UK's growth and competitiveness.
Returning the economy to sustainable growth, extending social inclusion, and social mobility and ensuring that jobs are being created in the private sector through specific investment across key sectors are just some of the priorities set out by government. To successfully deliver UK economic growth and thus increase employment through a current and future workforce (with the necessary skill base) is the only way prescribed to compete successfully in the current global economy. The government is keen to ensure skills are well integrated in it's growth strategy and ensure BIS, DWP, DfE and industry and working in partnership, as outlined in Skills for Sustainable Growth, and Building Engagement, Building Futures.
This must attend conference will provide a focal point for key decision from across the public, voluntary and community and private sectors, for those looking to better understand the funding and opportunities that go hand in hand with the government's investment in growth. Through interaction and discussion, you will be able to better understand exactly how the landscape surrounding skills training has become key to the government's growth agenda, and their plans for ensuring that the workforce has the skills to fit the demands of the market.
No other event focuses as directly on the needs of those involved, and provides such a comprehensive understanding of the issues and tools required for any professional looking to better comprehend the position of their organisation from within this agenda.
